About this catalog
“All projects” means all projects in this index, including resources and education. We have not indexed every GitHub repository. Discovery uses public GitHub searches across Rust, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Go, Java, C, C++, C#, and other languages, plus category queries. Configured star floors favor established projects; smaller or newer projects may be missing.
Topics and specific description phrases determine categories and project kinds, supplemented by a small override file. Projects can have multiple categories; insufficient evidence stays unclassified or unknown. Libraries & frameworks is the default view; select Resources / education or Everything to find tutorials and curated lists. Clear all restores this default, with archived repositories and forks excluded. UI categories describe products for building interfaces, not every app with a GUI. Labels are discovery aids and may be imperfect.
A public repository is not proof of an open-source license. Licenses are shown as reported by GitHub; missing or unrecognized metadata is stated explicitly. Review the repository’s license before use. Stars measure popularity, not quality.
Results use a local snapshot. Updated is the actual GitHub metadata fetch time, independent of server startup or reclassification. Written in is GitHub’s primary implementation language. Works with covers a small verified set; an unlisted ecosystem is unverified, not unsupported. Works with links on project rows cite official documentation and verification dates; this is separate from the GitHub fetch time. Refreshes run in the background; failed or incomplete refreshes retain the last valid catalog. “Last pushed” uses GitHub’s pushed_at, not metadata update time.
Search matches whole terms across names, descriptions, topics, categories, project type, implementation language, and verified ecosystems. Name prefixes help as you type. Automatic sorting uses Most stars without text and Best match with text; choosing another sort preserves your choice. The legacy category=frontend link now selects Web frontend.
